Well, let’s admit the fact that things have gotten topsy turvy and we all are terribly missing our on-the-go routine and the hustle and bustle being a part of our everyday lifestyle. The weekend outings with family, party with friends and movie dates everything has come to a screeching halt as though someone had pressed the brakes suddenly while driving on the highway.

And needless to say about being bombarded constantly with the news on social media about the current situation.

The stress of coping up with the current scenario may be extremely overwhelming and take a toll on our emotions but don’t fret as we are all sailing on the same boat and being socially responsible and mindful of the fact that we are doing our bit to curb the spread of the pandemic. We are unanimously striving for a good cause and not too far away from seeing a glimmer of light at the end of the tunnel.

As we are accepting the new reality of life( temporary though), I’m sure you guys are wondering how to keep yourselves engaged in an enjoyable and productive way. So, here I am to give some tips on how to make use of your ‘quaran-time’ in a funductive way.

Social and not Emotional distancing

Even though most of us are feeling low about not being able to meet our friends and maybe some of our family members, let’s remind ourselves to look at the brighter side of things. The Internet has made life so easy that we can bond with anyone at any part of the globe with so much ease. Make family conference calls a ritual and try to get in touch with a long lost friend with whom you’ve always wanted to talk to but never really found the time. Rekindle old and cherished memories. There is no better way to have emotional well being than bonding with loved ones.

Sweat it Out

If your gym is closed it doesn’t necessarily mean that your workout sessions have to come to an end. Sometimes you may not feel motivated to workout without your trainer behind your back pushing you to do so, but trust me your home workout at your own pace can be so much more fun and engaging. A thirty mins online zumba session or playing badminton in the backyard with your spouse can be an exciting workout to keep you active and release some endorphins – the much needed happy hormones.

Family game nights

Family nights are not just about going for movies and dinners. Ever heard of the new saying ‘Families that play together stay together’. Bring out those board games and playing cards that you’ve packed and kept aside. There is no better way to spend the quarantine nights with your family laughing and playing monopoly or scrabble. These are memories you will always cherish.

New skincare regime

At the moment beauty parlours are out of the question, but you wish to get yourself pampered. Remember those simple DIY face and hair masks that your mum or Granny had always made using just natural stuff from the pantry shelf? Prep up your skin and hair the natural way and look a whole lot better in your selfies and video calls.

Pursue your favourite hobby

Now is the perfect time to grab your favourite book and snuggle up with a cup of chilled dalgona coffee. There is no better way to get transported to another world than reading a book.

Pursue your favourite hobby

Having said that, gardening is another great hobby to bring out your inner joys. It can be something very small like growing your own herbs in small pots on your kitchen window sill or nurturing your plants in the balcony that you may have overlooked for quite some time due to your busy schedule. Watching those colourful blooms every morning is a peaceful sight and very refreshing indeed.
